A-fucking-men. Seriously, this whole battle between the sizes is ridiculous. We women should be standing up and supporting each other instead of trying to tear each other apart.
Straight up.
This whole “I’m a real woman because I have curves” versus “I’m so happy I’m not a fat pig like you” mentality is just another way we are eating away at ourselves. Thin does not necessarily equal anorexic. Curvy does not necessarily equal obese. These are extremes. If someone IS anorexic, you calling them names will simply justify their illness to them and probably trigger a response not to eat, or to binge and then purge if they have bulimia. If someone IS obese, you calling them names will just dip them deeper into their emotional eating and not working out so they won’t be “the fat person in the gym everyone is staring at”. I have been on both sides of this (both underweight and overweight) and I say ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.
As women, we have to stop turning on each other! We should be supporting each other and helping each other reach our goals. We should not be attacking, accusing, name-calling, or weight-bashing. As anyone who has ever tried to gain or lose weight knows, it is a difficult journey - both physically AND emotionally. I don’t know how this “you’re not a real women unless you look like X” started, but IDO know that it won’t end unless we all stop fighting.
So all you bitches - of any size - who think you are better than someone because of what you look like need to take a long hard look at yourselves, because one day your looks will fade and all that will be left will be your shitty judgmental personalities. And that’s just not attractive on anybody.
